1. Why does piano need tuning?
Piano is built and combined by numerous tiny components. 2. How often should a piano to be tuned?
Different users have different needs and demands. For music concerts, piano should be tuned after each performance. For general families, pianos are suggested to be tuned at least once quarterly. If there are more than two piano players in a family, or for users with Piano Grade 6 or above, it would be better to tune the piano more frequently. There is no definite answer for the frequency of piano tuning, the more important is to keep its pitches in standard condition. Even if the piano has long been unused, it is advised to check and tune each six months to avoid rust, insect or other irrecoverable damages.
